Fly Tipping is continuing and unstoppable, particularly with those cheap mattresses that are purchased for rental accommodations, and found dumped in various public places and even unwanted bags of clothing that are not good enough for charity shops.
There is a way of putting a complete stop to fly tipping. Instead of Councils charging for collecting recyclable items they could instead offer people ( not everybody has a car to take recyclable items to their recycling centre) a shopping voucher to be spent at their local supermarket for a very large collection of unwanted items that fit the criteria . Does this sound silly? Well, I think it makes sense as there is a lot of money to be made from recycling goods and this hugely benefits the Council's even though they would beg to differ.
It is also a way of lessening cars on our London roads during the day.
