Being Politically correct can also have an ugly side particularly when it come to our countries very few remaining Traditions and Festivities.
Many local London Councils do not want to be seen celebrating religions festivities particularly the UK national faith which is 'Christianity', despite our Queen being Head of the Church of England. Xmas decorations is what we all do around the world when we want to celebrate a positive occasion, a self expression of joy, yet some Local Authorities seem to be under the opinion that our countries religious festivities will offend residents of other faiths. This kind of Local Authority outlook and imposing actions may be meant well, but in reality, it has had an adversed reaction, in that it has harm relations with our citizens of other faiths. Most people have actually been wrongly blaming people of other faiths for our Council's decisions for not wanting to be seen to be celebrating Xmas. Even a Xmas Star on a Xmas tree in Palmers Green is seen to be offensive by Enfield Council.
Despite our Local Council opinion, our local Turkish restaurants have beautifully decorated their restaurants with Xmas Deco. Our relations and friends of other faiths who also celebrate Xmas are of the firm opinion that Council Staff are actually atheist and wish people to have no faith like them, yet as a family we know atheists who also celebrate Xmas. Xmas means so many positive things to so many peoples and a great magical time for children to keepsake throughout their lives. London Local Council's could at least put up up day- time Xmas Decorations for the children to enjoy.
Many other countries are fabulous at celebrating their many and varied traditional festivities which brings all their citizens together in joy despite their differences.
There is nothing offensive of a faith that simple message is Love of Humanity, surely this is something worth celebrating, particularly in a humanly world that has become far too grim.
