Transport for London (TfL) has engaged with bus drivers throughout the process of shaping its Bus Safety Standard. Bus drivers have been integral to testing and giving feedback on safety measures ahead of them being incorporated into new vehicles. TfL is also developing a full monitoring and evaluation programme in readiness for the first buses entering service at the end of 2019, which will include bus driver feedback. TfL updates the union, Unite, on the Bus Safety Standard every quarter and invited its representatives to watch track trials and attend the launch of the Bus Safety Standard.
