The Metropolitan Police Service Football Unit works closely and collaboratively with intelligence units, frontline policing and British Transport Police colleagues to ensure every football game is meticulously planned and that a proportionate bespoke policing plan is in place for every match.

The vast majority of fans were well behaved during and after the match, however, both the Met and I unreservedly condemn the violent acts committed by a minority of supporters.
