The MPS, Haringey and Islington Councils are working closely together to improve the safety of park users in Finsbury Park. All recommendations following the death of Iuliana Tudos are being progressed.

Haringey Council await agreement on a proposal for CCTV across the Borough. If ratified, this will increase coverage around the park, where CCTV locations have been identified. The installation of lighting is on hold pending an imminent community consultation on proposals to lock the park during hours of darkness. Fencing has been installed and tree canopies been lifted to improve vision into the park.

Haringey Council has increased the dedicated park team to provide visible reassurance (13.5FTE up from 3.5FTE). This includes a dedicated Park Manager, with a remit including safety for park users.

The safety of park users remains a priority for the local ward team and the park remains a tasking area for the council-funded policing team.
