Transport for London (TfL) proactively compares and monitors its gender pay gap against other similar companies registered with the Government Equalities Office. Gender pay gap information for all employers over 250 employees is available on the Government Office for Equalities website: https://gender-pay-gap.service.gov.uk/

TfL has benchmarked its median and mean gender pay gaps against 149 other peer companies in Transport, Utilities, Train Operating Companies, along with other public authorities. 

For the primary measure of the gender pay gap, the median hourly pay gap, TfL rank 94th out of the 149 peer companies identified.  This is clearly not ideal, and is why TfL’s focus is on reducing the gender pay gap and becoming the best in class in the future.
