Transport for London’s (TfL’s) contract with Bombardier Transport, does make provision for late delivery, as is generally the case with this type of contract. This offsets additional costs being incurred by TfL as a result of the delay, including costs for the provision of supplementary bus services, and additional maintenance and leasing costs of the diesel trains currently being used on the Gospel Oak to Barking line.
