We are working in partnership with councils, health, education, and CJS representatives to develop the work and strategy of the VRU.  A Partnership Reference Group has been established which includes the council nominated leads; Carolyn Downs, London Councils Executive Lead for Crime and Public Protection, John O’Brien Chief Executive of London Councils, Jamie Carswell Councils representative for Housing and Carmel Little, Councils representative for Safeguarding. They have a clear mandate to steer the work of the VRU to ensure partnership approach to delivery that will complement and align with initiatives already underway.

A key principle of the VRU is to build on the work of partners where possible to deliver to the priorities agreed with the Partnership Reference Group. Through the London Crime Prevention Fund, MOPAC supports the Islington, Hackney, Westminster, Haringey, Lambeth and other IGUs and will ensure alignment with the VRU activity as it develops.
