Transport for London (TfL) is doing everything it can to minimise disruption and is very sorry for the inconvenience the situation is causing to its customers. TfL’s current focus is to introduce the new trains as quickly as possible and to run the best service possible in the meantime. TfL also continues to run supplementary bus services in addition to the scheduled train service to provide additional capacity from Leyton Midland Road and Leytonstone High Road on weekday mornings.

I agree that passengers on the route have had to endure a poor service for far too long, and I share their frustration at the ongoing delays to the new trains.

I am therefore pleased to announce that Bombardier has agreed to my request to offer a month’s free travel to passengers on the Gospel Oak to Barking Line when the new trains are fully introduced.
