The investigation into the bus fire near Frognal Station, Finchley Road, on August 13 concluded that alternator cable wear against the side of the hydraulic tank was the most likely cause of ignition. Metroline has conducted checks of similar vehicles to ensure the routing of cables avoids the potential risk of wear as much as possible. The outcomes of the investigation have been shared with all other bus operators.
