Transport for London estimates that 200 of the 500 buses operating in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets, and 100 of the 500 in London Borough of Newham, meet the "green" Euro VI engine emission standard or better. Details of these buses and the routes they serve can be found on the Fleet Online Operational Vehicle Data spreadsheet here:

https://tfl.gov.uk/corporate/publications-and-reports/bus-fleet-data-and-audits

This is updated every three months to show the changes taking place, with the next version due at the end of summer.

To ensure the whole of London benefits from cleaner air, all buses in the fleet, including those in Tower Hamlets and Newham, will be raised to the Euro VI engine emission standard or better by 2020.

Between now and then, this process will be accelerated by the roll-out of 12 Low Emission Bus Zones, the requirement for buses to comply with the Ultra-Low Emission Zone from 2019 and the requirement for all new double deck buses to be hybrid diesel-electric Euro VI or zero-emission from 2018.
