A constituent has informed me that Bexley Council has recently published details of plans to build extensively on Old Farm Park. In light of your earlier opposition to the development of this site, and the need to protect open green space so that all Londoners can benefit from the physical and mental well-being it provides, will you look at what interventions you have available to you to prevent this from going ahead?

Bexley council have already granted planning permission for the site. Their local planning authority reference is 17/00577/OUTM. I do not have the power to intervene as this application did not meet the criteria set out in the Mayor of London Order (2008). Additionally, I do not have any power to retrospectively intervene once planning permission has been granted.

However, I know that green spaces are cherished by Londoners. That is why my upcoming London Plan will show how we can accommodate growth without building on the Green Belt and Metropolitan Open Land through making the best use of land and identifying where growth will happen.
