The City of London's 'Bank on Safety' scheme will not prevent door-to-door access to the Bank area, including for wheelchair users using a taxi, although in some cases this will involve a longer route than before the scheme was introduced. This impact will be mitigated as far as possible by adjustments to the restricted area. The scheme is aimed at delivering significant safety improvements to a junction with a poor safety record, and bus journey time benefits will accrue to all passengers, including bus passengers who use wheelchairs, and people with disabilities who are crossing the junction by other means than a taxi.
