Under common law police disclosure, TfL, as the regulatory body for licensed taxi and private hire drivers, will be provided information by the police where they assess there is a public protection risk.

TfL also has an information-sharing agreement with the Metropolitan Police Service and City of London Police to receive regular feeds of police information about licensed drivers, operators and vehicle owners, as well as licence applicants and bogus drivers.
