I have tasked LEAP with helping to develop a long-term vision for economic development in London, including support for delivering my statutory Economic Development Strategy. LEAP will also play a key strategic role in:

       Supporting my manifesto commitments to support business, prosperity and opportunity;

       setting and delivering the Royal Docks Enterprise Zone economic priorities and allocating funding received through retained business rates growth;

       overseeing the delivery of London's 'Growth Hub', the new gateway to business support in the capital;

       provide ongoing strategic oversight of the 2014-2020 European Structural & Investment Funds; and

       provide a powerful advocacy and lobbying voice as a business-led body supported by London's boroughs and the Mayoralty.

The new LEAP Board is due to meet for the first time on 1 February and I look forward to working with members to establish specific long-term priorities to support economic growth.
