Answer for West Acton Waste Treatment Facility

Answered By:
The Mayor

The London Plan requires waste authorities to allocate sufficient land to manage the household and commercial waste arising apportioned to them.  The West London Waste Plan fulfils this requirement and so has been deemed as being in general conformity with the London Plan.

The requirement to allocate land for the treatment of waste apportioned in the London Plan only applies to household and commercial/industrial waste. Planning applications for waste facilities to manage other waste e.g. construction and demolition waste need to be considered in addition to the sites identified in the waste plan.
