The aim of the scheme is to replace or repair inefficient or broken boilers for up to 500 fuel poor households in London in order to:

       maximise additionality, by directing funds at Londoners that are highly unlikely to be able to afford the works without our help

       cut bills (by an estimated average of £150 a year per household)

       cut carbon emissions. Replacing one boiler could save between 0.3 and 1.5 tonnes of CO2 each year depending on the efficiency of the boiler being replaced. (1.5 tonnes of CO2 is the equivalent of a return flight from London to San Francisco)

       improve air quality and health. (Please see my response to MQ 2017/0155).
