Police pay mechanisms are set nationally by the Police Remuneration Review Body.

The MPS was one of a number of forces who piloted the assessment process prior to it being linked to pay and implemented nationally.   Both MOPAC and the MPS support the move towards linking police pay to contribution and skills.

MOPAC has overseen the progress and believes it will improve professionalism of the service and support continuous professional development.
