Black History Month was celebrated throughout October with events at City Hall and across London. Social media support was given to the campaign, and I attended events across the month. The campaign aimed to increase awareness of City Hall's involvement in Black History Month, including an exhibition held in the map area.

It also coincided with Africa on the Square, a celebration of African and African Caribbean culture held annually on Trafalgar Square. Information was made available on London.gov and both Twitter and Facebook were used to promote Black History Month at City Hall. In total, eight tweets were sent from the @mayoroflondon channel reaching 788,564 people. Likewise, two tweets were sent from @LDN_Gov and there were two posts on the LDN_Gov Facebook page.

Moreover, officers in my Community Relations and Events Teams worked full-time from July to October 2016 to successfully deliver a number of Black History Month events, which celebrated the myriad contributions of Black Londoners to our great city.
