Safer Schools Officers receive a considerable training around legislation, MPS policy, school scenarios and crime areas specific to young people and students.  A toolkit is available with guidance and policy they can refer to, with additional support available from the Territorial Policing Youth and Schools Central team.

Objectives are set locally in line with the MPS Safer Schools Partnership aims which include:

       Positive engagement to build trust and confidence

       Improve safety

       Enhance safeguarding

       Help for young people to deal with the risk of becoming victims

       Support for those who are victims

       Early intervention and diversion for identified vulnerable students
