Answer for Trains in operation on the Piccadilly and Central Lines

Answered By:
The Mayor

Please see the table below.

The daily service requirement at peak times for the Piccadilly line is 79 trains Monday - Friday, 76 trains on Saturdays and 68 trains on Sundays.

The Piccadilly line returned to a good service during the off-peak on 16 December 2016, following work to repair damaged wheels caused by leaf-fall which had reduced train availability for much of the period.

The daily service requirement at peak times for the Central line is 78 trains Monday - Friday, 72 trains on Saturdays and 61 trains on Sundays. The Central line fleet has experienced reliability problems on account of its age. TfL is undertaking extensive maintenance to the trains to improve reliability which will result in fewer delays and cancellations.
