I acknowledge that traffic congestion around Jamaica Road is a significant concern for local residents. Congestion here is often caused by incidents occurring at the Rotherhithe Tunnel.

TfL is looking at what can be done at Rotherhithe roundabout and at the tunnel approach to help address this issue in the short term. TfL is aiming to make any changes by the end of this year.

Through my Healthy Streets Approach, I want to reduce reliance on private cars and promote walking, cycling and public transport. This will create a healthy city, with cleaner air, and safer, more accessible and attractive streets and public spaces.

Jamaica Road will be part of this and is on the planned alignment of Cycle Superhighway 4 (CS4). TfL is expecting to consult on CS4 this summer.
