Sutton's two theatres represent the cultural lifeblood of the borough.  However, the Secombe in Sutton and the Cryer in Carshalton have now both been closed. With your focus on culture in London, what can you do to assist in supporting the reopening of the two theatres in Sutton?

I am disappointed to hear that The Secombe Theatre and Charles Cryer Studio have been closed recently.

I am committed to Londoners having access to culture on their doorsteps and highly value the role the arts and culture play in bringing communities together.

My Culture team have been in touch with Sutton Council and the Sutton Theatres Trust, which is the charity managing the theatres and there is a call confirmed on 20 December with Jan Underhill, Executive Head of Wellbeing to understand what options there may be and whether we can support in any way.
