I am pleased that we are able to roll-out body worn video across the Met. On completion of a trial period as part of the national pilot scheme, SCO19 issued 300 body worn cameras to Armed Response Vehicle (ARV) officers.  A further batch of cameras will be issued to all ARV officers across the MPS from January 2017.

As you might imagine, the covert aspect is more complex. Currently, the body worn cameras the Met is deploying are unsuitable for covert operations. There is currently a national trial taking place, which SCO19 are participating in. Two products are currently being evaluated as part of this with the intention of finding an appropriate model.
