Question

The London Borough of Croydon's development company, Brick by Brick, has recently submitted the first batch of planning applications for housing on Croydon's small sites, which aim to deliver 1,000 homes. How can the GLA support this model of borough-led development to maximise delivery on infill sites across London?

I want to support boroughs directly delivering new homes, particularly on smaller Council owned sites, and I am currently considering how my new London Plan and Housing Strategy can support this model of delivery.  Where development companies are classified as registered providers they can access the funding available under my new Affordable Homes Programme. In terms of planning, I have set out clear guidance on affordable housing and viability in my new draft SPG and will explore whether the London Plan and Local Plans should provide increased planning certainty on small infill sites to increase delivery.
