Current MPS systems are unable to provide numbers of arrests in schools without substantial time and resources.

There are 292 Safer Schools Officers and not all of their arrests necessarily take place in or around schools. Therefore, every individual officer's arrest records would need to be identified and reviewed to establish the location.

In order to maintain an effective Safer School Partnership, Safer Schools Officers will, as a general rule, avoid arresting young people in school, using appropriate powers to interview without arrest if necessary.
