Further to your answer to my question 2016/3025, please provide an update from Transport for London (TfL) on progress with the Committee on the Medical Effects of Air Pollutants (COMEAP) in requesting that they consider the health impact of tube dust in the London Underground for the first time since 1998?

The Committee on the Medical Effects of Air Pollutants (COMEAP) was unable to consider this issue, as originally expected, at its November 2016 meeting.

TfL will continue to discuss this issue with COMEAP, and are hopeful that they will consider this during 2017.

While TfL is keen to work with COMEAP, its major research into the possible health effects of dust on the Tube network suggests that dust on the Underground does not pose a significant risk to the health of Londoners.
