Question

Will you, Mr Mayor, agree to object to the Croydon Council Local Plan in the September consultation? There are major concerns with the content of the plan, to include downgrading of MOL at Shirley Oaks, some to Local Green Space but the majority left with no protection.  In addition the downgrading of Croham Hurst & Purley Downs from greenbelt to MOL as well as downgrading of Sanderstead Plantation from greenbelt to Local Green Space.

Croydon's Local Plan has not been formally referred to me for my opinion on general conformity. Once it has, I will review these proposed amendments in line with national policy and the London Plan. I have already made clear my commitment to protecting the Green Belt and MOL and will use my powers to that end.
