Yes. It is vital that we continue to improve cyclist safety in outer London, as well as in other parts of the capital.

Progress has been made in recent years on improving cycling safety in London, with a 25 per cent reduction in the rate of cyclists killed or seriously injured per journey in 2014, compared with the 2005-2009 average.

I will ensure that TfL continues to improve the safety of cyclists in outer London through its road safety programme and continuing investment in cycling improvements. This will include the delivery of TfL's Mini-Hollands programme that is transforming conditions for cycling in three outer London boroughs, further delivery of Quietways and support through the Local Implementation Plan funding awarded to boroughs. TfL's 'Analysis of Cycling Potential' study showed that 54 per cent of all the capital's 'potentially cyclable trips' are made in Outer London, and these programmes, alongside cycle training and safety information, will improve cyclist safety in Outer London to help achieve London's cycling potential.
