Question

I have recently visited MIND in Haringey and was informed that 75% care leavers had Mental Health issues. What role can you play in ensuring that this vulnerable group of young people have access to good quality preventative services?

Preventative services are essential when supporting vulnerable young people, therefore my Education and Youth team have been working in partnership with 6 local authorities to develop a £10 million 'Edge of Care' Social Impact Bond (SIB).

It is expected that over 550 young Londoners, aged 10 to 16, will receive Multi Systemic Therapy support of Family Functional Therapy to help them stay out of care. The SIB will be delivered for three years, followed by a two year tracking period.
