I welcome your announcement that the ULEZ will be expanded to the North and South Circular. However, given that the boundary of the North Circular extends a lot further north than the South Circular goes south, how will you work with boroughs located beyond the zone in the South to tackle air pollution?

It is expected that the extension of Ultra Low Emissions Zones (ULEZ) to the North and South Circular will benefit boroughs located beyond the zone, as vehicles travelling through these boroughs are upgraded to meet the standards.

In addition to consulting on the expansion of ULEZ to the North and South Circular, we are also consulting on an alteration to the Londonwide Low Emissions Zone standards for heavy vehicles to bring them into line with ULEZ standards.

I will also work with outer London boroughs by providing support and guidance on tackling air pollution through the London Local Air Quality Management framework and funding through the Mayor's Air Quality Fund.
