The Mayor

Construction sites subject to the NRMM Low Emission Zone are required to use an online register for their equipment. The use of this register is actively monitored by GLA officers.

On the ground enforcement of the NRMM Low Emission Zone is undertaken by London Boroughs. GLA officers monitor and support enforcement activity through the online register, regular contact with Borough officers and provision of advice.

GLA officers have also been working with large infrastructure projects and the industry to publicise the zone and drive compliance.

Finally, two groups of boroughs applied for funding from the Mayor's Air Quality Fund to boost local enforcement, one in South London and one in the North. Between them these two projects cover 17 London Boroughs and will employ four full time staff dedicated to enforcing the NRMM Low Emission Zone.
