Question

The Sutton Decentralised Energy Network (SDEN) via a district heat network, expected to use the heat from the planned Beddington incinerator to provide low-carbon energy for two adjacent boroughs and 19,000 homes.  Given the GLA's membership of the Beddington Energy Recovery Facility CHP working group, and excluding the 750 homes at Felnex, can you confirm how many additional homes are currently in the pipeline for connection?

I am unable to confirm how many additional homes are currently in the pipeline. The Borough is focused on the Phase 1 development to Felnex and wants to expand the network more widely across Sutton and into neighbouring boroughs.

Heat networks are key to delivering my decentralised energy policy and I encourage Sutton to continue to connect as many homes as economically feasible.
