Question

London Bus Services Limited (Company No. 03914787) is TfL's wholly-owned subsidiary that contracts 100 percent of London's public bus services from a number of subcontracting bus operators.  My understanding of the hiring arrangements as stipulated in Section 81 (1) (a) of the Public Passenger Vehicles Act 1981 is that in order to subcontract public bus services, London Bus Services Limited is required to have, inter alia, an operator's licence and a named Transport Manager.  Please provide details of both.

London Bus Services Limited (LBSL) does not operate vehicles or services on the London Bus network. As the tendering authority, there is no legal requirement for LBSL to hold an operator's licence.
