I understand that the expected funding for the proposed next phase of the Well London projects - including those in my constituency has been further delayed until next year. Please could I have an explanation for how this has happened, as this is causing some difficulty for community development partners who are expecting to deliver this important health inequality work.

Answer for Well London Funding

Answer for Well London Funding

Well London has received two phases of funding from the Big Lottery wellbeing fund, the second of which ended in June 2015.  The GLA is supporting the University of East London and Peabody in a major new bid to the Lottery's Reaching Communities Fund.  If successful this funding will support a third phase of Well London that scales up and embeds this new way of working with disadvantaged communities across London.

The bidding process for this funding is in two stages and takes around nine months. In the meantime the University of East London is continuing to provide advice and support to the Well London programmes across London, including in Greenwich and Lewisham, that are continuing into phase three.
