Question

Thank you for the answer to my question 2014/2740 regarding police enforcement of 20mph roads. Can you please publish the results of the pilot Community Roadwatch scheme which is a partnership between the MPS, TfL and the local community in three London boroughs to conduct speed detection operations locally and send warning letters to those found to be exceeding the limit? When will a decision be made about rolling this scheme out to other London boroughs?

Answer for Community Roadwatch Scheme

The pilot of Community Roadwatch in the Boroughs of Southwark, Islington and Lambeth in 2014 was primarily focussed on testing the concept, equipment and processes involved in the initiative. The pilot was considered a success and the decision was made to rollout the scheme to all London Boroughs by the end of 2015. Learning from these pilots has been incorporated into the plans for London wide implementation.

TfL and the MPS intend to roll out this scheme as soon as possible as set out in my answer to 2015/2700.
