Operation Herne is the independent inquiry into the work of the Special Operations Squad /Special Demonstration Squad.  I fully support this Inquiry which will report its findings in due course.  The details about officers deployed have not been published and will be established in the course of this Inquiry.  As to the particular question concerning the danger faced by officers, this would require individual risk assessment to be carried out in each case and the assessment would be likely to vary dependent on when such a request was made.
