The Visit London app is managed by my promotional agency London & Partners. The app's points of interest (POIs) are curated using data from social media sites Foursquare and Facebook, to give users the most popular activities in London, regardless of location.

Though the app's geographical coverage currently only includes POIs in Zone 1, 2 & 3, the coverage within the app will expand in October to give broader coverage of London, doubling the number of POIs.

London & Partners are working with my office to publish online guides to London neighbourhoods, which will promote tourism in Outer London, through VisitLondon.com and their other channels.

We already have cultural gems for tourists in outer boroughs like the William Morris Gallery in Walthamstow, Bold Tendencies in Peckham and the Battle of Britain Bunker in Uxbridge which I recently visited. I want to see more success stories like these.

In March I launched a new Cultural Tourism Vision for London to inspire more cultural visitors to London and enhance the wider cultural offer across the capital, including Outer London.

I am also working with London and Partners on a tourism strategy for London. The Strategy is a direct response to the LEP Economic Development Plan 2036, which highlighted the existing and future potential of London's tourism industry to contribute significantly to London's economic growth. The early stakeholder consultations have highlighted the importance of promoting Outer London's tourism offer.
