Answer for Metropolitan Police Service outsourcing

MPS staff cannot be expected or required to move to an area that is not based anywhere within the Metropolitan Police District.

This means that when the MPS business support services are relocated away from London under the SSCL outsourcing all staff working in these areas who cannot or do not wish to pursue a relocation option staff will be put at risk of redundancy.

The MPS and SSCL have been working closely with Trade Union representatives regarding the outsourcing and subsequent transformation of services for some time. Relocation packages will be made available, the detail of which is currently under discussion with the Trade Unions. In addition, all staff TUPE transferring to SSCL from the MPS will have access to a full range of outplacement support services provided by the MPS Career Transition Service.
