Question

Can you please let me know the costs of the recent bus WiFi trial that took place in 2014? Without naming the company that provided the costings, could I please have a detailed, line by line, breakdown of the costings associated with full roll-out?

The 2014 Wi-Fi trial took place on two vehicles and spanned a period of six months. All associated costs were met through third-party sponsorship and are detailed below:

Wi-Fi equipment: £1,000

Wi-Fi operational costs: £1,800

Total cost of trial: £2,800

TfL has looked at costs to progress the rollout of on-board Wi-Fi across its bus fleet. Installation and operating costs over five years would be between £40 million and £70 million, depending on data usage.
