Whilst I am passionate about improving the health of Londoners I do not have the duty or responsibility to commission or provide health services. The NHS Health Check tests people aged 40-74 at risk of long term conditions such as Type 2 diabetes. Local areas are actively working to ensure that those at greatest risk are targeted.

I understand that is also the NHS Diabetes Prevention Programme, a joint commitment from NHS England, Public Health England and Diabetes UK, to deliver, at scale, an evidence-based behavioural programme to support people to reduce their risk of developing Type 2 diabetes. One of the seven demonstrator sites is in the London Borough of Southwark.
