My Deputy Mayor for Education and Culture and Cllr Peter John together made a joint response to the Department for Education's call for evidence on the cost of providing childcare. This can be found here: http://www.londoncouncils.gov.uk/our-key-themes/children-and-young-people/early-years-and-childcare The submission was in part based upon research commissioned by London Councils and undertaken by the Family and Childcare Trust to examine the type and scale of challenges that London boroughs are facing and tackling to deliver the Department for Education's existing childcare offer. The report identified barriers relating to funding and access.
