Answer for School Places (2)

The Mayor

My recent correspondence with Nicky Morgan MP, Secretary of State for Education, raised concerns about the school place shortages in London and the high costs to providing new schools in the capital. The Secretary of State welcomes the GLA joining the regular officials' meetings between the Department and London Councils on school places. This recognises the GLA work underway with the boroughs to produce joint forecasts for school places demand.

My Deputy Mayor for Education, Munira Mirza, will be meeting Nicky Morgan and raising the issue again.
