Question

I have received requests from residents for the creation of a cycle path along London Road, from near North Cheam (Victoria House) crossroads to the newly built bridge into Nonsuch Park, near Wickham Avenue. This would improve links between North Cheam and Nonsuch Park and connect with the London Loop cycle network. Will you instruct TfL officers to examine the case for a cycle path in this location?

TfL does not currently have any plans to create a cycle path at this exact location on London Road, although there will be a parallel Quietway route running 350m to the north of it at the Fairlands Park / Lloyd Road junction. TfL has requested further details of potential proposals to improve connectivity in this area from the London Borough of Sutton. Although these proposals do not form part of an existing budgeted programme, TfL would be happy to discuss this matter further with LB Sutton officers.

Extensive discussions are also taking place with LB Sutton regarding the development and delivery of a cycle network in the Borough and surrounding area, including proposed Cycle Quietway routes.
