The Mayor

Notwithstanding the serious shortcomings in the Airports Commission process - including the, the inconsistency of its approach, the incompleteness of its data and the paucity of its consultation efforts - I await its recommendations, and their basis, with interest. I have no intention of committing to any particular course of action in advance of receiving the report.

In any case, it will ultimately fall to Government to evaluate all the evidence presented - including, but not limited to, the Airports Commission's final report - and determine a way forward that meets the UK's economic need without sacrificing the health and quality of life of Londoners.
