Question

The Private Hire Vehicles (London) Act 1998 makes 34 references to "bookings", and in the Act '"operator" means a person who makes provision for the invitation or acceptance of, or who accepts, private hire bookings'. Given that Uber have made clear via their own Twitter account that they do not take bookings, do you still think it appropriate that they were granted a licence under this legislation?
