The G36C and the ammunition used by Police Forces across England and Wales has been through a stringent set of operational and scientific tests by the Centre for Applied Science and Technology (CAST).

The MPS has confirmed that there have been no issues with the variant in use, the G36CV, which has a shorter barrel than the German version.

Nonetheless, the matter in Germany has been referred to the Centre for Applied Science and Technology (CAST).
