Boroughs are structured to meet local priorities.

Camden does not have a Violent Crime Unit, it has a CID (Criminal Investigation Department) main office that deals with all major crimes, including non-domestic violent crimes, as well as frauds, thefts and serious damage. The current main office staffing level at Camden is 1 Detective Inspector, 6 Detective Sergeants and 36 Detective Constables.

The Community Safety Unit deals with violent hate and other non-violent offences and is staffed by 1 Detective Inspector, 3 Detective Sergeants and 15 Detectives Constables.
