The aim of the Baker Street two-way scheme is to reduce the dominance of traffic throughout the area by removing the existing one-way system and introducing a two-way environment.  This will help reduce vehicle speeds, consequently reducing noise pollution and emissions, as well as improving accessibility through the area. The scheme offers improvements in safety and accessibility for all road users and provides an opportunity to improve facilities for pedestrians, cyclists and bus passengers.
