Last week was the 'International Day of Zero Tolerance of FGM'. One woman was arrested at Heathrow on suspicion of conspiracy to commit FGM. How many cases of FGM have been reported in London in 2013 and 2014 and 2015 to date? How many of these cases were children? How many investigations into FGM (procurement and practice) were started? The official declaration on zero tolerance towards FGM is something I wholeheartedly support, it is absolutely right that days such as this are recognised in order to help protect people from the violation of FGM.

The attached spreadsheet in Appendix 7 documents the cases of FGM reported in London in 2013, 2014 and January 2015, broken down by month, and shows the number which involved children.
